Time Out Market global creative team collaborated with Time Out Dubai city experts and local interior designers, Zebra, to bring to life the essence and soul of the city in one culinary and cultural destination.
JoãoCepeda, President & Creative Director at Time Out Market commented: “The latest culinary concepts perfectly represent how Time Out Market Dubai is bringing a curated mix of famed homegrown talent together in a uniquely designed space. Like the content and stories of Time Out, the design of each Market reflects the soul of the city. The unique fingerprint of Time Out Market Dubai’s interior design is the addition of natural palettes and materials, influenced by the distinct colours surrounding the city. The columns are wrapped in terracotta tiles, reminiscent of the red sand dunes, while the wooden tables and aestheticsreplicate the grain and colour of the city’s sandy shorelines. This artfully contrasts with the industrial interiors and neon art displays reflecting the urban landscape.”
Cepeda continues: “We have ensured that the layout of the space provides more intimate seating areas, inside and out, for groups of families and friends to spend quality time together, eating, drinking and being immersed in city culture. Further to this, the high, columned arches are in-keeping with Souk Al Bahar’s design, reflecting a modern spin on the traditional Middle Eastern marketplaces. The glass ceiling bathes the open plan atrium in natural light, where visitors will be able to dine with a remarkable view of the BurjKhalifa. We can’t wait to reveal more of what visitors can expect as we edge closer to the opening.”
Time Out Market Dubai, the first to launch in the Middle East, will open in partnership with Emaar Malls early 2021. As the UAE’s largest food hall, the fully licensed Market will feature 17 extraordinary homegrown culinary concepts with cultural and entertainment spaces where guests can enjoy the buzz and iconic views of the city.
