The Cheeky Camel, JLT’s cosmopolitan food and drinks venue,unveils a new vibrant menu full of gastropub favourites with a twist inspired by the world’s most dynamic city.
Following a successful launch in October 2021, The Cheeky Camel have finely tuned their menu with the addition of new flavorsome favourites while remaining true to their roots, balancing the very best European bistro and brasserie cuisine with a touch of Dubai and the Middle East.
On the launch of this new menu, Head Chef, Derek Flynn, said: “It’s been an intense but wonderful time since opening The Cheeky Camel six months ago, we’ve reflected on the menu and many of the customer favourites remain but now with the addition of 14 new delicious and wholesome dishes. We’re delighted with the outcome that is a flavourful nod to the melting pot spirit of Dubai in gastropub favourites.”
What makes a European gastropub menu complete? Signature Steak Cuts of course. The new menu is highlighted by an epic signature steak butchered in-house and sourced directly from farmers around the globe focusing on unrivalled quality of all-natural, humanely raised beef. Food lovers have a choice of two steaks: a 250g Australian Onoxy Angus Sirloin or a USDA Prime Black Angus Rib Eye both served with Chunky Chips, Onion Jam, Truffle Oil, Roast Garlic and Confit Vine Tomato.
Another star of the new menu is Wagyu Beef featured as a perfect sharing dish in the Wagyu Beef Sliders or a heroic main 8oz Wagyu Beef Burger seasoned with a special house blend and served with all the trimmings served on a soft brioche bun.
Other new small plates that are perfect to share with friends include Gambas Al Ajilo, sauteed prawns and beef chorizo, Korean Spiced Calamari, a restaurant staple, Pollo Saltado, fiery chicken strips, and Oven Baked Feta Cheese.
Other new main dishes that are honest and mouthwateringly delicious include Red Wine Braised Short Rib served with truffle mashed potato and vegetables, Grilled Lamb Chops with the perfect balance of mint sauce and a light rosemary jus poured over, Sous Vide Chicken Breast served alongside smoked forest mushroom jus. And what completes a pub menu more than Fish & Chips, a delicious cod fillet served with mushy peas, tartar sauce, and chunky chips.
For those looking for something light and nourishing, the new Smoked Duck Breast Salad is the one with the duck breast sitting on a bed of endives, watercress, orange segments, fennel, dried cranberry, candied hazelnut, and a sauce of pomegranate molasses.
Customer favourites return from the previous menu with local produce championed with Dibba Bay oysters – grilled or on ice – plus the heartwarming pizzas freshly baked in a wood oven come in three tasty flavours: Margherita, Beef Flank Steak, and Tandoori.
The Cheeky Camel is located at the voco Bonnington Dubai in JLT’s Cluster J and is open from 5pm until 2am during the week and from 3pm to 3am at weekends.
