Welcome to BABA – a little piece of Istanbul hidden in the heart of Dubai. More than just your average restaurant, BABA brings the spirit of Turkish culture to the dining experience – from its warm, leather-clad interiors to its fragrant aromas. At BABA, among a table filled with hot mezze and sizzling kebabs, friends and family gather for conversation, comforting food and strong spirits from the homeland.
Launching on Thursday 18th March, the BABASofrasiCommunity Experience–a unique dinner concept will bring people together, just like in old Turkish tradition. Over spates of sumptuous plates of traditional Ottoman cuisine, diners will also indulge in the national drink of Turkey- Raki, also known as Lion’s Milk, tasting from five different varieties throughout. An essential part of Turkish culture, Lion’s Milk represents a bond shared by all Turkish people – a representation of their culture, heritage, home and pride.
The BABASofrasi Community Experience pays homage to the tradition of the Lion’s Milk spirit with lots of fun facts, nostalgic cultural throwbacks and witty quotes- the dining experience is designed to get diners to talk, share, laugh, and indulge together as one community.
Guests will be engulfed in the warmth of Turkish hospitality and the Lion’s Milkculinary journey while dining on a selection of mezze and hot starters, culminating in hot-off-the-grill kebabs prepared BBQ style. A selection of dishes will be created by BABA’s Community Kitchen women. BABA’s Community Kitchen features different expat women of Turkish origin, who have a passion for creating and sharing their Turkish recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.
To provide the full Ottoman experience, diners will enjoy five different varieties of Lion’s Milk pairings and traditional live music throughout.
