There’s only one way a place gets to Time Out Dubai’s most coveted Restaurant of the Year award – by serving up a flawless dining experience. And although it didn’t land the top gong in 2017, it is still an amazing place to eat. From the moment you walk up to the ornate doors, past the friendly, attentive hosts, and into the large, contemporary venue that’s always buzzing, you know this place is special. It’s difficult to settle on one or two of the delicious-sounding plates, so you might want to ask the staff. They’re all really good and will make super suggestions. Check out the ceviches, tender Josper-grilled octopus with olive tapenade and a Chilean sea bass that flakes apart fantastically. But the star of the show is the langosta iron pot – a dish of perfectly cooked chunks of lobster with tender rice and pea shoots that’s well balanced and subtly flavoured. As for desserts, the standout is a salted caramel ganache, the richness offset by a raspberry sorbet and candied orange. You’ll dream of it for weeks.
