Restaurant type: Spanish Cuisine Clear

Looking for traditional Spanish food? Quiero opened in April in Barsha South and is serving authentic Spanish eats. Quiero – which means “I want” in Spanish – comes from Anisia Pienaar, who set up a restaurant inspired by dishes she loved growing up, all cooked by her mother Mary. And now Dubai’s Spanish food fans can get in on the treats, as the head chef at Quiero is none other than Mary herself. Get ready for a range of authentic tapas as well as paellas, desserts and more. Open daily 8am-10pm. Platinum One Tower, Arjan, Barsha South, quiero.ae/ (058 512 3222).

At Al Hambra, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re enjoying a drink in bustling Valencia. However, one glance at the palm-fringed canals from the terrace will remind you of your Gulf location. This traditional Spanish eatery offers a colourful array of dishes. The seafood paella is a must, but there are also delicious tapas, rustic Spanish dishes and tasty vegetarian options to try. A mariachi duo adds to the lively atmosphere. It offers the perfect setting for al fresco dining too.
