The first fine-dining vegetarian restaurant has opened its doors in Dubai, taking Trèsind Studio’s former spot in the Voco Hotel. An intimate venue with only 24 seats, the degustation experience sees guests being served beautifully plated dishes crafted straight from chef Rahul Rana’s mind. With an emphasis on ‘clean, pure and energy-containing ingredients’, the light meals have been designed to leave you feeling good. Open Tue- Sun, 6.30pm-1am. The Meydan Hotel’s fine-dining steak restaurant PRIME is reopening its doors this month. Serving up succulent prime cuts, fresh seafood dishes, chicken and vegetarian meals in a classy ambience, this dinner spot is high-end experience. Though mostly suited for race nights (as the track is unlit when there are no events on) if you’re nearby, pop in for a great steak. Opens on Sunday May 1, then open Tues-Sun 5pm-1pm. Headed up by pizza champion Francesco Calo you’ll find VIP toppings on the thin crust slices such as beluga caviar and gold leaf. Following the success of its Hessa St location, Unwind board game café has opened a second branch right across from Zabeel Park Dubai in Park Gate Residences. The main draw of the fun spot is that you can play hundreds of different board games but the food menu is great too with breakfast served all day as well as fast food favourites such as burgers and pizzas. Mirdif Hills Avenue is now home to new patisserie Room 1618. In addition to offering cakes, croissants and desserts, Room 1618 had a breakfast menu with lots of delicious items including a scrambled egg croissant. There is also a bread bar where you can select bread, meats, cheeses and dips to delve into. Other highlights include flatbreads with an array of toppings, salads and sandwiches. China Bistro recently opened its newest branch on July 14 in Dubai Studio City. Head to the restaurant for menu of pan- Asian cuisine that includes much-loved favourites such as boa buns, bowls, dim sums and salads.
