Netsu At Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai Introduces Weekend Lunch

Netsu at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai introduces a weekend lunch menu, available exclusively on Fridays and Saturdays. Reminiscent of Japan’s distinct food stalls, guests can now experience the famous street food culture without leaving Dubai. Created by acclaimed chef Ross Shonhan, the concept of Netsu takes inspiration from the traditional Warayaki style of cooking over flames, using straw to impart a distinctive smoky flavour.

The all-new weekend menu is designed by the Australian-born chef using the finest ingredients, offering a fresh take on Japanese street food. The menu embraces a wide selection of traditional dishes served with an unconventional twist including favourites such as Ramen, Katsu Sandos and Udon. Complimenting the experience is the introduction of Japanese shaved ice desserts, Kakigori, in a range of signature flavours and unique toppings like Ichigo Strawberry, Chocolate Banoffee and Caramel Popcorn.

We wanted Netsu to break the mould of Japanese restaurants in Dubai, showcasing different styles of cooking with the Warayaki technique and different parts of both traditional and modern popular Japanese cuisine. But, overall Netsu is meant to be fun, exciting and vibrant. The addition of a weekend lunch menu has given us a chance to introduce some more playful dishes that are currently trending in Japan and are available exclusively at lunch time, offering a lively Netsu experience during the day.” says chef Ross Shonhan.

Situated on the ground floor of Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, Netsu is the largest Warayaki-style restaurant outside of Japan. With its Kabuki-inspired setting and innovative cuisine, it is one-of-a-kind dining destination. Netsu will now be open from 12 noon on weekends and guests will no longer have to wait until late to experience Dubai’s most exciting Japanese Steakhouse.
