Following the great success of its launch in 2021, LPM continues to captivate guests with an immersive cocktail experience that pays tribute to the renowned French artist, writer, and bon vivant, Jean Cocteau.
Since introducing Jean Cocteau’s menu, also known as “Recipes For Our Friends,” LPM has taken guests on a nostalgic journey, infusing cocktails with history and the fantastic artwork that defined Cocteau’s unique style. By blending the charm of a bygone era with the imaginative spirit of Cocteau, LPM offers patrons a chance to rediscover one of the most multi-talented artists of the 20th century through the storytelling of cocktails.
This innovative menu is structured like a vivid novel, divided into four captivating chapters, each highlighting a place that Jean Cocteau once called home. Within each chapter, three cocktails take centre stage, each representing a person or event that shaped Cocteau’s extraordinary life during those seemingly carefree times. To commemorate the 2nd-year anniversary of the Jean Cocteau menu, LPM Restaurant & Bar will raise their glass to the artist on his birthday – July 5th – with a special offering. During lunch and dinner, guests will be treated to complimentary mini coupe versions of two exquisite cocktails from the Jean Cocteau menu: Lettre à Coco and Pablo.
The elegant Lettre à Coco pays homage to the cherished friendship between Jean Cocteau and Coco Chanel. This vodka-based cocktail, meticulously crafted with Ketel One, features a champagne cordial infused with the delicate aromatics of jasmine, bergamot, and rose, reminiscent of Coco Chanel’s iconic perfume. A gentle mist of her signature scent adorns the glass, enveloping guests in an aura of sophistication and elegance.
Pablo, on the other hand, celebrates Cocteau’s friendship with the legendary artist Picasso. This captivating creation combines the finest Botanist Gin with tarragon, and a clarified orange and mint cordial, resulting in a harmonious blend of flavours. As a nod to the Spanish artist’s oil paints, three drops of herb-infused green olive oil delicately crown the cocktail, adding an artistic touch to the experience.
