La Petite Maison (LPM), renowned for its celebrated French Mediterranean cuisine, is thrilled to announce the first wine dinner of the season, held in special collaboration with the esteemed winery Gérard Bertrand. This exclusive, intimate dinner will take place on Tuesday, September 17th at 7 PM, offering guests a unique culinary experience where the art of fine dining meets the world of biodynamic wines.
The evening will feature a carefully curated menu, each course meticulously paired with select wines from Gérard Bertrand, one of the most respected wineries in the South of France. Marie Thevenot, Global Prestige Ambassador of Gérard Bertrand will host the dinner alongside Gregg Lambert, Head of Wine Middle East, who will guide guests through the intricate pairing process and the story behind each wine.
Gérard Bertrand was chosen as the partner for this event not only for their deep roots in the Languedoc region, an area in the South of France known for being the country’s largest wine-producing and vineyard region, but also for their commitment to producing biodynamic wines. Biodynamic agriculture is a farming method that focuses on natural practices, like using compost and biodynamic plant teas, taking into account all natural elements surrounding the vineyard. It follows natural cycles to protect the environment, bring balance to ecosystems, and improve the way vines are grown. As Gérard Bertrand himself says, “Preserving the environment sustainably, restoring harmony to ecosystems, enhancing the precision of winegrowing techniques, reaching out to future generations—these are today’s challenges, and tomorrow’s obligations.”
The menu for the evening will begin with a selection of starters, including Yellowtail Carpaccio with Guacamole and Citrus Dressing, Crispy Squids with Paprika and Green Chilli, and Snails with Garlic Butter and Parsley. These dishes will be perfectly complemented by, but not limited to, the 2022 Cigalus Blanc and 2021 Orange Gold. For the main course, guests can indulge in Homemade Mafaldine Pasta with Calamari and Prawns, paired with the exquisite 2021 Clos du Temple, and Marinated Lamb Cutlets with Olive, Aubergine Caviar, and Pine Nuts, showcasing the perfect marriage of flavours with the selected wines. To conclude the evening, a decadent selection of desserts, including Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Warm Chocolate Mousse with Malt Ice Cream, will be paired with the 1895 Rivesaltes, offering a sweet and memorable finale to this extraordinary culinary journey.
This event marks the beginning of a series of wine dinners at La Petite Maison, where the elegance of French Mediterranean cuisine is elevated by the finest wines from around the world. Reservations for this exclusive dinner are limited, ensuring an intimate and unforgettable dining experience.
