This month, popular food emporium, Jones the Grocer, unveils a special edition throwback menu comprised of ten all-star dishes,crafted by four celebrity chefs who have graced the kitchen at Jones the Grocer over the past 25 Years. These mouth-watering dishes will be available from 16th September until 23rd December 2021across all locations in celebration of this Jubilee Anniversary.
Talented Spanish Chef, Omar Allibhoy, creates a buzz wherever he goes, and Jones the Grocer is no exception. Author of the hugely successful cookbook, Tapas Revolution, Allibhoy trained under some of the world’s most renowned celebrity chefs, including Gordon Ramsey and Ferran Adrià.
Guests will be delighted to find Allibhoy’s famous Huevos Estrallados Con Pimientos de Padron, padrón peppers, crashed egg and chicken chorizo served on house-made sourdough bread back on the special edition breakfast menu. Looking for a way tap-as time this weekend? Allibhoy’s Tapas Board for 2 is perfect for a long grazing lunch, showcasing pimientos de padron, croquettes de Cecina de Leon, Cecina de Leon, Manchego and grilled and marinated baby octopus, anchovies, and squid.
Michelin Starred chef Theo Randall also returns to the menu with beloved Italian favourites from his best-selling cookbook, My Simple Italian. Randall returns to Jones the Grocer’s breakfast with a Portobello and Porcini Mushroom Frittata, served with creamy fresh ricotta.
Randall’s second dish to start on the celebratory menu is pasta-tively delicious, Tagliatelle Con Melanzani e Pomodoro,with garlic and chilli roasted aubergine, tomato and basil topped with Grana Padano which is sure to leave you licking your lips.
Award-wining chef Peter Gordon says kia ora from New Zealand. Gordon is often described as ‘the godfather of fusion cooking’, intertwining flavours from all corners of the globe, producing dishes that hold flavours and textures, rather than tradition.
Peter Gordon’s Baked Ricotta Salad is back! A medley of delicious baked ricotta, glazed carrots and figs, beetroot amaranth, mesclun and perfectly smoky almond brittle, this dish demonstrates Gordon’s famous textural way of cooking. Also joining the menu is Gordon’s Seared Salmon Salad, with nori sauce, crispy buckwheat, gomasio, avocado, carrot, and watercress.
Most famously known for his role as a judge on Britain’s Best Dish, Celebrity ChefEd Bainesis an acclaimed chef, restauranteur, and author. Baines’ passion for food stemmed from the Mediterranean, before returning to his roots and diving headfirst into the world of true British cooking. Author of the praised cookbook Best of British, Baines conjures contemporary twists to British classics.
You’ll be in truffle if you don’t try Baines’ unique twist on traditional Roast Pumpkin Soup. With roasted pumpkin of course, but also with blue cheese, and truffle, Baines’ adds a luxurious surprise to this iconic dish. Why not complete your meal with a Warm Lamb Salad, crispy panko-crusted lamb, rosemary, spilt peas, pomegranate, and grilled courgette topped with a honey mustard dressing? This is sure to be a dish you won’t forget.
No meal is complete without dessert. So, back by popular demand, guests will find two unmissable favourites on the menu. Randall’s tantalising Tiramisu, built of savoiardi biscuits, Jones’ signature espresso coffee and whipped mascarpone. And Baines’ brilliantly British Plum and Hazelnut Tart– a sticky plum pie with hazelnut crumble and Jones’ signature vanilla ice cream. For the perfect accompaniment to these desserts, guests can choose from Jones the Grocer’s wide range of T2 Brews and Jones’ exceedingly good coffee.
