Get ready to drop everything and re-write your plans because Jones the Grocer has teamed up with Valrhona, arguably one of the world’s greatest chocolatiers, to bring chocoholics two incredible, free to attend, masterclasses, with two special guest-hosts.
In collaboration with Valrhona, Jones the Grocer will be hosting two exclusive masterclasses with the help of Dubai’s most favourite Instagram foodie personalities,Nicole Maftoum, from @eatlikenicole, and Haiya Tarik, from @passmethedimsum. NicoleMaftoum, an expert baker, and dietician with a passion for all things chocolate will share her expert knowledge and delicious baking skills, while tea and food science enthusiast, Haiya Tarik, will take foodies on an incredible chocolate and tea tasting journey.
Valrhona has perfected the technique of enhancing the flavour of the cocoa bean, making them one of the worlds most celebrated makers of fine artisan chocolate. The two masterclasses will take you on a journey of pairing and baking which showcase their chocolate’s unique and aromatic flavour profiles.

One for tea lovers, this enlightening tea and chocolate pairing class will see certified Tea Sommelier, Haiya Tarik, host an exclusive masterclass at Jones the Grocer’s Al Manara store. Guests will gain first-hand experience on how to identify different types of tea and how to brew the perfect cup of tea. Each tea’s unique flavour will be paired with Valrhona chocolate and participants will learn how the tea and chocolate can be good friends.
The masterclass is also an opportunity to discover a range of brilliant tea blends from beloved Australian tea brand T2, exclusively available at Jones the Grocer stores. Originating in Fitzroy, Melbourne, T2 began a tea revolution way back in 1996, around the same time Jones the Grocer opened its doors in Sydney making it them the perfect pair for this masterclass.

Taking place on Tuesday 7th of September at 4:00pm, Nicole Maftoum’s exclusive online masterclass, will see her step behind the stove and bake up an array of seriously delicious treats, incorporating Valrhona chocolate into each, mouth-watering recipe. Nicole will be on hand to share her expert knowledge on baking with chocolate, share insights on the health benefits of chocolate, whilst baking up three, fabulous healthy recipes for foodies to make within the comfort of their own home.
