What’s cooler than a polar bear’s toenails? LDC Kitchen +Coffee, that’s what!
LDC Kitchen +Coffee is the new F&B concept that just opened its doors in One JLT. Initially proposed to be a London Dairy Café, the team at London Dairy Café decided that the location was perfect to debut its bold, new branding, fresh new menu and their uber-chic new interiors. Those familiar with the original brand have been affectionately calling it LDC for some time, so to them the new name will not come as much of a surprise. To those new to the brand, they can expect to embark on a great new café journey with fresh eyes and even fresher bakes.
The achingly cool upgrade of the much-loved original café concept brings an upscale and healthy menu to the table alongside a fresh deli, a cheeky ice-cream selection and a bakery that can go toe-to-toe with the anyone in town, and all at unbelievable value.
LDC’snew menu reads like a rollcall of global favourites, including a veggie Eggplant Shakshuka, a slow-cooked French onion soup made with homemade stock, a delectable assortment of pancakes, Kung Fu Chicken burger, Tagliatelle Ragù, Pan Roasted Salmon and Steak Frites. Everything on the menu is lovingly made in-house including the stuffed sausages that come with the Full Monty breakfast and in the Backyard Sausage Roll. The menu created by LDC’s Head of Culinary, Chef Omar Basiony (previously of Flamingo Room by tashas Dubai) is a homage to all his favorite foods and international dishes.
The exciting new food offering at LDC is matched by stylish interiors that give an eclectic mix of mid-century modern design and industrial art deco touches over two relaxing floors. Inside, the caféis filled with natural sunlight helping to amplify the subtle splashes of teal, mustard and metal that gives a welcoming and warm feel. Dotted around the venue are smart working spaces for those working remote and the pet-friendly outdoor terrace is the perfect place to cool down in the nicer weather. The grand communal table gracing the lobby entrance -complimenting the rest of the interiors and the well-rounded menu -brings to life the new LDC manifesto: “everyone has a seat at our table”.
Florencia Beschtedt, GM of Operations for London Dairy Café and the person overseeing the development of the new LDC concept said; “Dining out, regardless of price point, is about loving good food, appreciating a warm atmosphere and connecting with likeminded people and that’s what we want to express with our new LDC Kitchen + Coffee concept. We are delighted to open in One JLT and we thought that the location was the best place for us to bring a fresh look for the London Dairy Café brand. It is exciting for us to become part of JLT dining family and for us to showcase our fresh new LDC approach. We can’t wait to share our passion for café society with everyone in the community.”
Those familiar with one of London Dairy Café’s original locations like DIFCwill notice that the impressive teal bird artworks have made their way to the walls of One JLT and even flown onto the new LDC logo as an origami version. The unique species of bird adorning the walls and new logo has been especially chosen due to its penchant for shading under coffee trees, while the origami incarnation on the logo references the handcrafted dedication associated with origami works -all of which perfectly represents the mantra assigned to food, drinks and service at LDC.
What started life as a dessert parlour has grown into a stylish café concept with an amazing food and drinks offering that rightfully sits amongst the best in the city. Watch this space as the rest of Dubai’s existing London Dairy Café locations look to get their new LDC wings over the coming months.
LDCKitchen + Coffee at One JLT is open seven days a week from 7am to 12midnight and until 1am during the weekends.
