Fry hard chicken fans rejoice as Jailbird pops up at Alserkal Avenue from October 2021. Jailbird is the authority on all things fried chicken, with a huge cult fandom and famed for its delicious Sando Melt and other mother clucking fried chicken burgers.
The Jailbird food truck will give you something to cluck about with its very own Hot Chicks campaign, paying tribute to the most colossal chickens in history. Like the fun-loving and annoying rubber chicken aka Screaming Chicken. Or the close-to-1B-views on YouTube sensation Techno Chicken, to name a few. Throughout the campaign, the chickens will take turns in sharing the poultry limelight, with a limited-edition burger every few weeks. Each unique burger takes inspiration from its muse. First up is the Ernie, in ode to Ernie the Giant Chicken from Family Guy, who has a reoccurring role as Peter Griffin’s arch nemesis. Like Ernie, the Ernie burger has punchy flavours and giant chicken tenders, comes with Nashville chili crisp, pimiento cheese, fried onions and served on a homemade bun.
Jailbird has also collaborated with 12local, regional, and international artists, to create limited-edition prints of these famous chickens, each in their own style. Mulga, Aussie based Joel Moore, uses bright colours to bring the artwork of cartoon rooster Foghorn Leghorn to life.The talented Saeed Arjumand, Emirati illustrator and comic book shop founder, puts a bandesdessineésspin on Yasmine the chick, pet of Joey Tribbiani and Chandler Bing from Friends. These prints along with the others will be available to purchase at the Jailbird food truck.
