Celebrating the world-famous Indian snack food Farzi Café are not only launching a dedicated Chaat Menu at their Mall of the Emirates and City Walk outposts but bringing in their very own Chaatwala. Rolling the cart around Dubai’s much loved modern Indian bistro, ringing a bell to let guests know they are ready for Chaat-making – diners can simply call over and sample any of the ninechaats on offer.
From Chowpatty Pe BhelPuri& Waffle straight off the beaches of Mumbai and Delhi Ki-Raj Kachori a crispy semolina shell stuffed with cooked pumpkin and sweet yoghurt; to Mexican Gol Gappe hollowed shell filled with avocado mash infused with tasty condiments and spices, to famous Punjabi samosas mushed then topped with chickpeas and a tangy sweet sauce – the chaat menu will follow the Farzi style of taking guests across Indian one bite at a time.
Other highlight chaats include Gujrat Nu Khandvi AaneDhokla Chaat, a leavened gram flour cake flavored with crackled mustard and curry leaves. Made live at the table in traditional chaatwala fashion, expect snacking with plenty of theatre on the side.
Whichever chaat takes the fancy, all can be washed down with an array of Mumbai-special cutting chai’s. Literally translating as “1/2 a cup of tea”, this on-the-go hot drink is a perfect taste bud teaser along with a lip-smacking chaat for those nipping in pre or post shopping.
