Introducing Meda: The UAE’s Newest Mediterranean Dining Destination

Situated in the heart of the city, Meda opens doors to a unique Mediterranean journey, co-created by acclaimed Chefs Mario Fico and Vincenzo Nigro. Inspired by the crossroads of culture and cuisine across the Mediterranean, Meda celebrates the iconic Med spirit with a contemporary take on the flavours of Spain, Italy, and Greece. Reimagining the concept of tapas and sharing, the venue welcomes guests to experience a refreshed interpretation of timeless traditions that have been passed on through the generations.

The venue boasts a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere on the first level of Downtown’s Taj Dubai. Its interiors feature a neutral palette with pops of colour, and a touch of modern classical elements, making it an ideal space to discover the refreshing flavours of the Mediterranean.

Chef Fico comes with extensive experience and a passion for exceptional cuisine. Having been part of the launch of the iconic dining destination, ZUMA, in the UAE, Chef Fico brings with him his local expertise and global knowledge of the F&B industry to unveil Meda’s spectacular kitchen. He is joined by Chef de Cuisine, Vincenzo Nigro who flaunts over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked across leading properties and restaurants around the world.

Offering a diverse menu, Medatakes guests on a journey from raw and caviar delicacies to wholesome signature preparations. The menu features an impressive selection of cold and hot tapas, main courses, and desserts, with something for every palate.

Among the key dishes is the Seabream Ceviche, served with crispy corn, piquillo, olives, and pickled red onion, the Tuna Tartare wrapped in filo pastry cones with avocado cream, and the tomato confit and pesto topped Smoked Burrata. Under hot tapas, the Huevos Rotos stands out, served with black truffle, veal jus and shaved parmesan, and the Gambas: a unique preparation of garlic chili prawn paired with an airy focaccia.

The experience continues with a sumptuous array of mains including a signature traditional NeapolitanCalamarata LobsterPasta served with confit tomato, bisque and fresh basil, and a decadent Lamb Rack with green mojo sauce and truffle mashed potato. The menu also flaunts a range of vegetarian favourites including a Truffle Raviolo and a classic Vegetarian Paella with saffron, porcini mushrooms, artichokes and green peas, as delectable non-meat alternatives.

Must-try desserts include Loukoumades, deep-fried dough served with a Gianduja chocolate dip, a contemporary take on the Tiramisu, and a vibrant selection of sorbets and fruit-inspired preparations.

The bar forms the very heart of the venue: A sophisticated space that flaunts clean lines and a minimal aesthetic, the bar is brought to life with an interactive crew of mixologists and bartenders. Exciting flavours of artisanal cocktails and traditional spirits are complemented by energetic and engaging presentations by the stellar team.

Discover a refreshing selection of crafted cocktails that come together with unique combinations: think a plum-infused tequila paired with elderflower and homemade Valencia soda to reimagine the timeless Paloma, a breezy cucumber vodka drizzled with watermelon syrup and a twist on the Bellini with apricot brandy, cinnamon, prosecco, and apricot foam. The La FresaRoja is inspired by the Italian dessert Strawberry Zabaglione with a strawberry-infused white Vermouth, while the Made in Sicily brings together pistachio batter-infused whiskey with baklava syrup taking you back to the Mediterranean dessert.
