Kameel Rasyid, the Founder and Head Chef of bkry, created this haven as a place where he can redefine the meaning of high-quality, handcrafted goods. “This is something that has been woven into the very fabric of this concept. Our mission is to transform each customer visit into a memorable journey that offers a better understanding of the baking process, where guests can not only taste outstanding baked goods, but also see how they are made and what ingredients are used.” Alserkal’s newest bakery is not a regular venue to grab a quick bite and a coffee to go, guests here can immerse themselves in the baking experience from beginning to end while indulging in their favourite drink or pastry, where they can witness wheat turn into flour, see the chefs kneading dough into pastries, and watch them all come to life until they are laid out for customers to eat.

bkry serves exceptional artisanal goods, complemented by specialty coffee as well as hot or cold dishes for both dine-in and take-away. However, this bakery does not use ordinary or commercial ingredients found in any typical café. It uses ingredients that have been meticulously sourced and brought to the UAE to make standout products that cannot be found elsewhere in Dubai. Every recipe uses grains that have been processed inside the bakery, chocolate from Bali, miso paste created in-house, or even fermented ingredients processed behind the kitchen. It is a world where innovation takes you beyond the regular croissant or baguette, and presents a baked good that is unique to bkry.

The menu provides three different offerings, with baked goods taking centre stage and the addition of breakfast and dining, turning this bakespace into a full-service restaurant. Pastries such as croissants made with Tanzanian milk chocolate, candied orange, or caramelised miso paste can be found, or sourdough bread with roasted garlic and rosemary or focaccia with kalamata black olives. Best of all, their selection of artisanal spreads and jams can be taken home to indulge in, such as their blueberry and lavender jam, macadamia coffee spread, or even honey cultivated from their local farm in the UAE. Not only are guests able to taste these creations, but they can also take part in the process through masterclasses and workshops that have been designed to enhance and deepen their knowledge and connection to the craft. bkry invites customers to embark on an adventure, with ingredients sourced from different corners of the world combined with those from local farms within the UAE.
