The Moon (or Mid-Autumn) Festival is one of the most important celebrations in Chinese culture. Families reunite each autumn to thank the moon for the harvest and spend quality time together. Dai Pai Dong’s culinary team led by talented Chef Nie Dong has curated a range of joyful dining events that reflect the festival’s classic dishes, alongside Chef Dong’s captivating modern twist on Cantonese flavours. The remastered autumn menus have options to tempt all ages, encouraging families to come together in the true spirit of the Moon Festival.
The Remastered Mooncake
Mooncake are Cantonese delicacies that are traditionally enjoyed during the Moon Festival. The custom of eating mooncakes is thought to date back several ages back as today the delicacy is served with fruits and unites the family around the dinner table during the Moon Festival.
Available exclusively from August 22nd to September 10th, Chef Dong’s mastered version of the ancient mooncake is a temptingly sweet and fragrant, rich handmade pastry dish using traditional ingredients and is priced at AED 42 for 3 pieces. This remastered creation can be enjoyed at the venue or ordered in advanced to be savored at home.
Mid-Autumn Inspired Hot-Pot Brunch
Continuing the festivities of the Moon Festival, Dai Pai Dong’s Mid-Autumn Hot Pot Brunch encourages guests to relax and soak up the ambience with their loved ones as the comforting scents of Cantonese spices rise from a bubbling hotpot. Also available to be enjoyed alongside are the special selection of dim sum inspired by the Moon Festival.
The Mid-Autumn Inspired Hot-Pot Brunch runs on the 2nd and 9th September 2022, priced at AED 298 with soft drinks and AED 428 with alcohol.
Gala Yum Cha Brunch
Chef Dong’s exquisite Mid-Autumn inspired Gala Yum Cha Brunch is a vision of tempting bites, including moreish dim sums, succulent roasted meats and exquisite sweet desserts. This leisurely weekend brunch is ideal for reconnecting with friends and family this autumn.
The Mid-Autumn Inspired Gala Yum Cha Brunch runs on the 27th and 28th of August and the 3rd and 4th of September 2022, priced at AED 298 with soft drinks and AED 428 with alcohol.
Baijiu Festival
This September, Dai Pai Dong is celebrating the punchy Chinese liquor baijiu. A stunning eight-course baijiu-inspired degustation dinner awaits guests during the festival – a culinary experience designed to challenge and delight the taste buds. Guests can sip fresh and funky baijiu cocktails alongside their thrilling Cantonese banquet and are sure to leave as avid connoisseurs of baijiu.
The Baijiu Festival event launches on September 16th 2022, with the offer running from 17th– 23rd September 2022. Prices start from AED 335 for Chef Dong’s eight-course set menu.
