3 Reasons Why Qatar World Cup 2022 Will Blow Everyone’s Mind

Qatar World Cup 2022 is going to be extraordinarily different. Last year in December, the Arab peninsula made history by securing the hosting rights of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and became the very first country in the Middle East to have been given this opportunity. Now in the glare of publicity, Qatar is hell-bent on impressing the world with its jaw-dropping plan for the World Cup 2022.

Below we will look at 3 reasons why Qatar World Cup 2022 will likely be the best World Cup in history.

Close proximity between stadiums

The hosting of the Qatar World Cup will take place in 5 cities at 8 different stadiums, but 4 of these host cities are just the neighbouring districts of Doha. The stadiums are well covered by metro lines, and the farthest stadium from the city centre of Doha is less than 30 miles away. Fans can just book a hotel for the whole duration of the event and possibly watch all their favourite matches.

In the past, World Cups were split across multiple cities distant from one another. The 2002 World Cup was hosted by Japan and South Korea in 20 different cities, meaning that fans had to travel long distances just to see their teams compete. It has never been possible for soccer fanatics to attend all FIFA matches, which Qatar World Cup 2022 aims to flip the script on.

All new infrastructure services and facilities

To win the hosting rights, Qatar had to ramp up its infrastructure investments linked to the 2022 World Cup. There will be a slue of brand new hotels, ranging from 4 to 5 stars, and the Doha Metro began operation in 2019, using driverless trains that can go up to 100km/h. The World Cup is expected to bring in 1.5 million visitors that the new metro will help to serve.

Other than these new hotels and metro lines, Qatar has undertaken the construction of 7 new stadiums slated for hosting the event, and the under-construction Lusail Stadium is going to be the biggest among all. Lusail is a brand new city built for the World Cup, with marinas, hotels, golf courses, entertainment centres, and a few resorts to spice things up.

It is going to give fans a new kind of experience

World Cups have never been held in Arab countries, and this will be the best chance for Qatar to show off its culture, architecture, and history to the world. Qatar has heaps of things to offer. Heritage sites, ancient buildings, hiking, extreme sports, nature and wildlife, you name it.

Al Koot Fort is a historical military fortress constructed during the ottoman period located in the city centre of Doha. If market visiting is your thing, Souq Waqif market is the oldest market in the country that most visitors go to. For a more adventurous and adrenaline pumping experience, consider going on a roller coaster ride in a 4WD in Doha’s desert.
