LET’S TALK A-BAO IT

As a city, we are certainly a community of avid foodies. Always on the lookout for the next big, tasty thing, we are abundant with choices but what is the best thing you can eat in Dubai? A Bao from BB Social of course.

But what is a Bao? Steamed to perfection and lightly toasted to finish, the Bao holds a complete meal all packed away in a warm, soft bun. A tad sweeter than its closely related cousin, the dumpling, the Bao bun is renowned for being light, round and fluffy. Popular in many Asian cultures, you can enjoy your Bao closer to home at BB, at lunch or after work, surrounded by greenery in the elegant setting of their chic European inspired interior. Perfect for a quick bite to eat, the Bao bun is the ideal finger food.

But what bao should you choose when visiting BB? Here are some of our favourites:

Crispy Duck

A steamed and toasted Bao filled with crispy confit duck and shredded cucumber; this Bao would go perfectly with a bite of BB’s Crispy Sprouts.

Lob Star

A steamed Bao filled with tempura lobster, lime mayonnaise and complete with truffle caviar. Pair your Lob Star with the superfood salad with avocado, grilled pineapple, shaved coconut and chia seeds.

Sakana Bao

Tempura butter fish with wasabi yoghurt and a cucumber ribbon all wrapped in, yes you guessed it, a steamed Bao bun. Add a Bite of the Chopped Kale Tabbouleh, kale with parsley, mint, tomato, onion and finished off with feta cheese.

Chestnut

A Bao bun filled with mushroom and chestnut croquette topped with truffle sauce and dried mushrooms. Try this alongside a bite of Lentil Salad with goats’ cheese, sweet potato and datterino tomato

Habibti

Crispy softshell crab with watercress and wasabi dressing nestled in a steamed Bao bun. Add the Cauliflower Popcorn with parmesan and truffle tofu sauce.

The Bao-mania doesn’t need to end there. Complete your BB feast with a sweet ending and immerse yourself with aBao-nut. A fluffy doughnut made from a bao dusted in sugar will leave you licking your lips. Served with Chantilly cream and strawberry jam.
