Opening its doors on Monday 7th September 2020, II Passaggio, a homegrown Mediterranean inspired restaurant, is set to be one of the most exciting launches on The Pointe. The modern, airy restaurant has a vaulted glass roof orangery inspired kitchen gallery, fresh white walls decorated modestly with black and white prints, a touch of luxe is added with marble tables and unique light fixtures. Relaxing in the wicker furniture on the terrace, with a wide vista of views across Palm Bay, guests will feel transported to the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
Il Passaggio meaning ‘passage’ in Italian, guests will be able to journey through the interactive restaurant to be seated in the main dining area. With open plan glass kitchens, guests will be able to view the bakery, pasta, pizza and dessert teams in action. There is even the opportunity to sit at the pizza station – what is set to be the most sought-after seats, and watch your dough be created and cooked in the glass pizza oven.
Ancient handed-down techniques are used by II Passaggio’s culinary craftsmen, taking traditional flavors and adding modern day flair, to create an all-day menu full of vibrant colours and rich textures. Take your morning stroll along the pointe promenade (with or without your woofer in tow) and sit and enjoy a leisurely start to the day. Breakfast highlights include Acai Bowls (fresh berries & banana, Acai mix with homemade granola), French Toast (with homemade strawberry jam & vanilla cream), Shakshuka (Canadian veal bacon, baked eggs with a cherry-tomato sauce vierge – with a roasted pinenut and hazelnut crust served with a Campaillou French loaf), indulgent Truffle Croissant (Black Summer truffle, parmesan cheese, scrambled egg) and eggs served six different ways. The three Breakfast Combos – Il Passaggio Favourite, Healthy Choice and Our Classic offer a range of breakfast dishes and are served with unlimited house brewed tea or coffee.
An extensive drinks menu will be available, featuring specialty teas, fresh juices and shots, mocktails and fruity milkshakes. Coffee connoisseurs looking for their caffeine fix on their way to work, can perch at the coffee bar and view the impressive coffee roaster in its glass room. The II Passaggio home roasted blend will also be available for retail so guests can enjoy it in the comfort of their own home.
Il Passaggio benefits from fabulous views across to the iconic Atlantis making it the perfect al fresco dining spot (even when sitting inside). The menu offers a range of soups, salads, burgers, pizzas and pasta dishes. Highlight dishes include the Truffle Tear & Share (flatbread with black truffle & Parmesan), Quinoa Salad (avocado, cherry tomatoes, organic peach, Rocca, hazelnuts, sun dried cranberries & passion fruit dressing), Steak Burger (Canadian Heritage char-grilled Tenderloin, signature hollandaise sauce, caramelized onions – with a choice of brioche or potato bun & homemade French fries) and signature pizza Il Passaggio (Black summer truffle, Bresaola, grilled artichoke, Rocca, tomato sauce with mozzarella & a sprinkle of parmesan) and Mama’s Lasagna (Canadian heritage beef ragu, tomato sauce, bechamel & parmesan) a heirloom recipe that has been passed down the generations.
Family and community are at the heart of Il Passaggio, a beautifully curated menu will satisfy the fussiest of little eaters. A mini Il Passaggio breakfast has all the best to start the day, from Pancakes to Baby Granola. Lunch and dinner see the menu extend to homemade pasta and pizza, of course the kids favourites of Chicken Tenders are on the mini menu too.
No meal would be complete without some Homemade Ice Cream (made in the glass dessert room, with a selection of flavours on offers) and the best Tiramisu in town.
