Celebrating Fresh Flavourat KYO

Located along thePointe in the Palm Jumeirah, the buzzing Japanese favourite, KYO Restaurant brings the freshest catch-of-the-day seafood along with an array of options for all palettes.

Lead by Head Chef Arturo Mendez, KYO focuses on exotic ingredients imbued in vivid fusion flavour profiles reminiscent of Japan. A master in the fine art of Japanese cooking, Mendez says, “From the precision of sashimi and sushi preparation, to the use of live cooking with a teppanyaki and Tempura, we have fine-tuned the menu to detail the many cooking styles used in Japan for a true experience. Adding the drama to dining, we have incorporated elements of fire and ice in our dishes and impeccable presentations.”

Featuringdelicacies ranging from a Sushi Bar to a Chef’s Table experience with Hot Stone and Teppanyaki. Derived from the term, ‘Teppan’ meaning the metal grill, and ‘Yaki’ being grilled, KYO presents choices of grilled seafood, meat, poultry and vegetables. KYO’s reinterpretation of ishiyaki introduces the Wagyu, and Surf and Turf options to the plate.

The menu offers an expansive selection on the starters including Black Cod Gyoza, Tartar, and Wagyu Sashimi. Signatures from the mains areWagyu Rib Eye, EbiTempuaaand Tako, including the Chef’s favouriteCitrus Suzuki Guajillo, a poached sea bass soaked in a spicy citrus sauce with orange tobiko, spinach, and shimeii mushrooms. The menu also offers vegetarian and vegan alternatives for every course.

Serving from their contemporary bar, KYO is renowned for their concoctions that also bring the fire and ice element to life. Fan favourites include Gingerbread Baby, Cucumber Togorashiand Matcho Tea, which is a passion fruit pineapple mix laced with egg white and infused with Matcha Tea.

Ending the meal on a sweet note and fiery note, the desserts are a play on classics with Japanese elements like Sakura Pie, Ginger Tiramisu, Nachi Pear, and the Chocolate Fondant.
