Iconic landmark luxury hotel, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, and Mexican celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval have joined forces to open the doors of VaKaVa Pan Latin Grill & Lounge on 17 June 2019. The sleek, colourful venue is the second incarnation of much-loved Toro Toro, offering diners and hotel guests an elevated experience combining food, fun and flamboyant features.
VaKaVa is Toro Toro’s more mischievous twin sister; sharing the same Latin roots but bringing the flavours, sights and sounds to another level, VaKaVa is vibrant, fiery, passionate and more spirited.
Taking the place of Toro Toro, VaKaVa enjoys the same spectacular and extensive two-storey spot, where guests can dine indoors under the warm tones of the original vibrant red and orange décor, or alfresco on the intimate patio of the ground floor. The extensive dining space is complemented by the awe-inspiring VaKaVa Terrace on the first floor, where mesmerising views of the waterfront make for the ultimate evening under the stars and the best outdoor terrace space in Abu Dhabi. The terrace is set to open later in the year when temperatures cool.
The new and exciting menu offers popular Pan-Latin dishes served as sharing platters, including soft shell crab tacos and cachapas (Venezuelan sweetcorn pancake, halloumi cheese and sour cream), grilled meat churrasco and traditional rodizio served a la carte, alongside a selection of savoury side dishes to complement the cuts.
Chef Sandoval is committed to delivering exceptional food with memorable experiences; this winning combination has been the key to success in his numerous restaurants around the globe.
Of course, no Chef Sandoval restaurant would be without its skilled team of bartenders and mixologists, who have created an outstanding drinks menu to complement the whole vibe of VaKaVa. A truly special touch comes courtesy of the Caipirinha trolley that makes its way around the tables, offering guests a personalised drink made there and then, with that extra bit of Latin flair.
Beyond the food and drink, VaKaVa really comes to life with its Latin rhythms and percussions. A resident DJ will spin the very best Latin Fusion tunes Monday to Saturday, from 8pm onwards and a Band will perform on Tuesday to Saturday, from 9pm onwards, bringing a authentic and vibrant South American vibe to the whole place. The Ladies Night every Tuesday will offer an experience to remember, with signature beverages, delicious food and great music.
To celebrate the opening of VaKaVa, Chef Richard Sandoval will be in Abu Dhabi 14 to 18 June 2019 and available for interviews.
