Launching Thursday, 4th November, and running until Saturday, 20 November, the challenge invites anyone over the age of 18 to finish a bowl of four litres of delicious pho in 1 hour at the family-run restaurants’ JLT or Downtown Dubai (Burj Vista) locations.

Along with gastronomic glory, those able to complete the challenge will be eligible to win one of two prizes,a two-night or one-night staycation at the luxury Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi*.

The challenge is priced at AED 99** but those who complete the challenge will enjoy their pho for free, take pride of place on Vietnamese Foodies’ Giant Pho Challenge wall and be in the running to win one of the luxury staycations. The challenge is open during Vietnamese Foodies’ regular operating hours, 7 days a week and the ultimate winner and runner-up will be those completing the challenge in the least amount of time.

The 2021 iteration of the challenge follows the 2018 launch which took place at Vietnamese Foodies’ original location in JLT. A fourth location of Vietnamese Foodies is also set to open early December at Nakheel Mall on the Palm Jumeirah.

For those accompanying, or cheering would-be Giant Pho challengers, Vietnamese Foodie’s fresh and delicious menu, featuring a variety of affordable, naturally healthy paleo, vegan, vegetarian, dairy- and gluten-free options will be available for dine-in. All Vietnamese Foodies dishes are lovingly prepared using the freshest ingredients, with most dishes cooked in broth or water instead of oil.  Along with its signature pho, which is simmered for 14 hours, guests can also sample other popular Vietnamese dishes including Com Ga Kep Sa (lemongrass grilled chicken rice with seasonal stir-fried vegetables), GoiCuon Tom (rice paper shrimp rolls with nuoc cham sauce)and Bun Bo Nam Bo(bun with beef tenderloin stir-fry).
