This is the promise of the Desi-Videsifood festival on from now until 31st August at The Huddle Sports Bar & Grill in Bur Dubai.
Taking inspiration from Desi or Indian street food, classic childhood snacks and dishes and adding to them a contemporary, foreign or Videsi touch, the chefs at the Huddle have conceptualized a menu that is a celebration of old and new.
From the minced lamb Keema Ghotala Sliders to the Kakori Kebab Speedies wrapped in roomali roti and served with a Kurkure chaat and the Cajun Shrimp Kathi roll and MurghRogani Naan Quesadillas fusing traditional Indian with Spanish and Mexican flavours, you are guaranteed a real Desi-Videsi party!
The Huddle chefs are at their creative best with dishes like the Pulled Tandoori Murgh Samosa-wich, featuring a roomali-roti cone stuffed with pulled tandoori chicken, Indian ranch, onion salad, and lemon-masala corn. Vegetarian must-haves include the Pulled Paneer Baida Roti, a paneer-filled tortilla shallow fried with Oman chips, the iconic local potato snack, and the Mashed Potato Dabeli, served in ladi pav (soft bread) with Gujaraticrackers.
Diners can add spice to their slice with the extensiveTandoori Pizza menu that includes everything from a Classic Chicken Tikka Masala pizza on a garlic naan base to a Desi Margarita pizza topped with traditional Amul cheese and coriander. Meat-lovers need to try the Tundey Kebab pizza on a laccha paratha base and the GoliKebab, a desi meatballs pizza also smothered with Amul cheese. Once again, plant-eaters can look forward to some inventive options including Dal Makhana and Palak Paneer.
